#42.how does hydropower work? How we get electricity from water?

All over the world, about 20% of electricity is generated by hydropower. It is a clean  energy sources. It provides more than 97% of electricity from another source of renewable energy sources. but how does it works?

This story is about hydropower technologies. What is the science behind hydropower.

hydropower:

When streaming water is caught and transformed into electricity, it is called hydroelectric power or hydropower. There are a few kinds of hydroelectric installations; they are totally fueled by the kinetic energy of streaming water as it moves downstream. Turbines and generators convert the kinetic energy into power, which is then taken care of into the electrical framework to be utilized in homes, organizations, and industry.

Turbine-

The power of falling water pushing against the turbine's edges makes the turbine turn. A water turbine is a lot of like a windmill, aside from the vitality is given by falling water rather than wind. The turbine changes over the dynamic vitality of falling water into mechanical vitality.

 Generator-

It is associated with the turbine by shafts and potentially outfits so when the turbine turns it makes the generator turn moreover. Changes over the mechanical vitality from the turbine into electric vitality. Generators in hydropower plants work simply like the generators in different sorts of power plants.

How does electricity reaches our home?

Power supply

From power stations, power streams to large transmission lines held up by colossal towers. These lines convey a lot of power to substations in urban areas and towns.

From the substations, dissemination lines convey littler measures of power to houses and factories.

The Three Gorges Dam in China, which keeps down the Yangtze River, is the biggest hydroelectric dam on the planet.
